# Getting Started

### So... how do I play?

Let's get you started in *three* easy steps!

1. Secure your [<mark style="color:yellow;">**Gauntlet**</mark>](/descend-online/v1-pets/golden-gauntlet.md)
2. Catch Pets&#x20;
3. Earn $TEAR

## Golden Gauntlet

To catch pets you first need your handy [<mark style="color:yellow;">**Golden Gauntlet**</mark>](/descend-online/v1-pets/golden-gauntlet.md), an ancient artefact that allows you to ~~harvests the souls of~~ *catch* & *hold* pets!

Rumoured to be a <mark style="color:yellow;">**Piece of Eden**</mark>, It *also* allows you to harvest **Magic Apples** from the sacred **Tear Tree** without being petrified in the process...

Harvest your daily **Magic Apples** from the **Tear Tree**, a *throwable* imbued with magic that breaks on impact, slowing & charming creatures for you to capture them!

## Equip your Gauntlet, and Apples... and you're set!

*(P.S.) Those pesky hares are tricky, try to round them up with other players.*

(*P.P.S.) Players can be momentarily charmed by the apples, it gets messy.*
